Background

This book is one of a set of four "wavy-cut" book by Bendon produced late 2006/early 2007. The other three in the set are Spider-Man: Web-Slinging Super Hero (Bendon), Spider-Man: Hanging Around (Bendon) and Spider-Man: Flying High (Bendon). They are all branded "Spider Sense Spider-Man", a logo which Bendon has used on a few other coloring/activity books.

All four books in the set feature six leaves of heavy card (outer front cover, outer back cover, plus ten inner pages). Strangely, "Flying High" is slightly larger than the others. It is 9.5" x 6" while all the other three are 8.5" x 5". Other than that, they're all very similar in style.

Note that all four books in the series have the same ISBN.

Story Details

"The bite from a radioactive spider gave Spider-Man all his amazing powers."

Spider-strength for gripping to trains.

Quickness, allowing him to defeat the powerful Rhino (depicted).

Spider-grip to allow him to climb walls.

"Spider-Man uses all of his incredible abilities to protect the city. But he also knows that with great power, there must come great responsibility."

General Comments

Hey, hang on there. We did "ability to stick to things" twice, but didn't cover his spider-sense? Or even his leaping ability?

Check the cover of this book. "Spider Sense Spider-Man" it says! SPIDER-SENSE! Maybe that would be a good power to include in the story. Huh? HUH!

Overall Rating

What a silly, silly list of powers. Yeah, bonus point for mentioning the power/responsibility shtick. But minus several hundred for omitting his spider-sense. One web.
