Background

Pete is on a nationwide book tour promoting his book of Spidey pictures: 'Webs'. This is a very good way to get Spidey into other settings without the obvious connection being made to Pete as Spider-Man himself has been given an open invitation by the publishers to go to the signing sessions.

On his latest launch in Vegas, Spidey feels his sense go off. It turns out that he swung through the sights of some Mohican-clad chap called Delta who is clutching a large bazooka and says he doesn't want Spidey brought into the 'Warzone'. In a bar on the strip, 'Alpha' and 'Bravo' are wondering where Delta is. They say that 'Warzone' only takes place once a year.

On the set of a talk show and the host seems to be struggling to remember Paul Palmer's, er.. Pete's name. At his book signing and things aren't much better. There's no-one there, although the store clerk assures him that the place was back when 'DeFalco' did his signing a few weeks back (hehe).

Things get even worse, however, when Warzone kicks off. Essentially it's just one bunch of nutcases firing live and heavy ammo at another set ; presumably in the name of fun. This interrupts Pete's signing - as an artillery shell tends to.

Delta is attacking one of the others when Spidey steps in. Delta is moving very fast and Spider-Man gets a tracer on him as he rushes to help a woman (Marlo) who has been hurt.

At the hospital and Marlo's room-mate, who is a nurse phones Mr Fixit, who looks suspiciously like the Grey Hulk. He obviously knows Marlo and crushes the phone in anger as she always falls for 'creeps'.

Anyway, back with Spidey and he swings back to the strip. Delta attacks again however, this time in some sort of hotel foyer. Mr Fixit interrupts though as Spidey realises it's the Hulk.

General Comments

There are some nice little bits in here. The TV producer forgetting Peter's name for instance. The problem is it all just seems a bit, well, silly. People firing live ammo in public and so on. This is LA, after all. I also have no idea who Marlo is, or what's going on with the Hulk. A bit of a recap from the cross over title would have been nice.

Overall Rating

Nonsense
