Background

Bendon have picked up the Spider-Man activity & coloring book mantle and have been gently popping out a few different items here and there over the past two or three years. In 2009, most of those items were marked as "Spider-Sense" Spider-Man.

This instance is a "Travel-Sized" coloring book, 6.25" x 8.25". It is 64 pages square bound with newsprint pages. It has a single sheet of stickers inserted in the center of the book.

Story Details

In artwork and content, this book contains the same style of content as all of the other "Spider-Sense" coloring/activity books produced by Bendon in the 2006-2009 period. There's a nice mix of puzzles, games, and coloring activities.

As always, the quality of the art is good. It has either been created by Bendon, or has been very carefully adapted from existing Spider-Man art with a clean-up process far more rigorous than many other Spidey franchise holders (I'm looking at you, Paradise Books).

See Spider-Man "Spider-Sense" Coloring/Activity (32pp, Bendon) for a few scans showing of the kind of content that is present in all these Bendon books.

General Comments

This is probably a decent compromise format for the back of a car. Though you certainly wouldn't want it any smaller than this, and at home on a big table it would be definitely under-sized. There are 20 or so brightly-colored stickers, all featuring just Spider-Man or a Spidy logo. Naturally they're all rather small to fit together one one page of this book.

Overall Rating

Like all the Bendon coloring/activity books, the quality is high. This one is deliberately small, but 64 pages is reasonable, and the variety is good. Let's stick with the same four-web rating.
