Introduction: I am a 22 year old Spider-Man fan. Currently I am a graduate student at Rutgers University majoring in American history. My earliest memories of Spider-Man come from religiously watching the wonderful Animated Series that aired on Fox in the early 1990s. It took me awhile to get into comic books. The 1990s was generally a bad time to be a fan of superhero comic books. I am forever grateful that Ultimate Spider-Man came out in 2000. For me, it was a breath of fresh air and a return to the Spider-Man character which I loved. I am having a blast reviewing the title that got me back into superheroes.

Collects: My current favorites are Ultimate Spider-Man, any Batman comic book, Daredevil, Captain America, Punisher MAX, and New Avengers

Why Spider-Man: I collect because Spider-Man and superheroes are pop culture history. They're great stories in the spirit of classic Greek myths. They tell us so much about the world we live in. As I get older, superheroes remind me to have fun and are a major source of comfort.
