Collects: All Spider-Man, Daredevil, All Batman, All Superman, Nightwing, Spyboy, Aria, Predator, Batgirl, Wolverine. I'm currently focusing on completing my Amazing Spider-Man volume 1 collection, which is patchy below #140. Why Spider-Man: I grew up watching the cartoon show after school and buying the Australian issue "Murray Comics" and "Federal Publishing Co" B/W reprints of Spidey. I loved Spidey's powers, sticking to walls and having increased strength and agility is way cooler than Superman's all emcompassing abilities. I also liked (and still do) the wisecracks he spouts forth during battle. He never takes himself seriously, which is a nice change to the cheesy dialogue most heroes trot out. Like a lot of guys I've spoken to, I stopped collecting comics around the age of 14 because I felt it was "childish". I moved to Canberra (the capitol of Australia) at 16 and discovered a store that sold just comics. This was very rare in Australia back in the 80's. I was back with a vengeance and my collection has grown from there. Favourites: In the Mad Dog Ward, the period where Pete was dating the Black Cat, the whole alien symbiote/black costume saga. I like Bagley's artwork and am thrilled to have him back doing Spidey on Ultimate Spider-Man. The Todd McFarlane issues really jumpstarted Spidey's popularity again and I love them for that (even if he had no idea on basic anatomy or understanding of how gravity should affect MJs hairdo! Man that was some big hair.) Untold Tales of Spider-Man by Kurt Busiek was simply excellent. Nathan Chattaway may Edit his/her details.
