One month ago in the Savage land Osborn approaches Skaar with an offer to join his team. Skaar tells him to come back tomorrow. After Osborn leaves Skaar calls Captain America on a phone Cap gave him. Skaar tells him that he’s just been visited by Norman Osborn and wants to know how to proceed. Back in the present Skaar takes down Osborn’s team single handily and rescues Captain America. Cap tells him they need to get in touch with The New Avengers and Victoria Hand as she’s in danger.

The Dark Avengers are recovering from the earlier beating when The New Avengers arrive and take them on. After a small battle The Dark Avengers are defeated and taken to prison. Daredevil asks what is happening with Osborn. Cap tells him The Avengers are on it and they’re going to meet them now as they have their hands full. Cap salutes Victoria Hand. Cap asks where’s Luke Cage? Finally we see Cage looking for Jessica in her old P.I. office but she’s not there.

General Comments

So Skaar was in touch with Captain America and appears to be in his debt or willing to do anything for him. I'm not sure when this has happened as I don't read Hulk comics anymore but it makes sense Cap would keep track of someone that powerful. Also I'm not sure about Skaar being able to take down the Dark Avengers on his own since the entire team of New Avengers couldn't do this. I guess the element of surprise must count for something.

All in all Osborns Avengers are out of the equation when it comes to the final battle which takes place over in the other Avengers book.

Overall Rating

A drop in score this month. Unfortunatley the Osborn arc comes to a resolution in the other Avengers comic so most of the set up work being done in New Avengers pays off in The Avengers. I hate it when that happens!
