Movie news... and the latest is that Sam Raimi has finally chosen his Peter Parker. Columbia Pictures has issued a press-release confirming that Tobey Maguire has been selected to wear the webs.
I'm not much of a Hollywood follower, but apparently Tobey is 25 years old, and has recently found success in movies such as "Wonder Boys" and "The Cider House Rules", "Ride With the Devil", "The Ice Storm", "Gary Ross", "Pleasantville" and Woody Allen's "Deconstructing Harry".
David Koepp "Jurassic Park" and Scott Rosenberg "Con Air" have drafted a preliminary screen-play, and shooting is planned to begin in Los Angeles in November. Release is slated for November 2001.
