This comic, like Marvel Adventures: Spider-Man) and Marvel Adventures: Fantastic Four, aimed at re-building Marvel's audience among younger readers, savvy teenagers, and older readers familiar with earlier incarnations of the Avengers.

This title completely abandoned any relationship with established Marvel continuity in favour of what one might call the Marvel Adventures Universe. While other Marvel Adventures titles hewed close to mainstream continuity, this book featured an Avengers line-up containing both Storm and "Giant-Girl", a Janet Van Dyne who in this continuity preferred to grow rather than shrink.
