Shannon Carter is the daughter of former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter, who grew up idolizing Captain America. When the new (M2) Avengers team was formed, she donned a costume based on Captain America's and joined the team carrying on the tradition of Captain America himself.
