Aug 1995 : SMURF 403.825 : SM Title : Web of Spider-Man
Characters: Watson, Anna, The Jackal, Kaine, Mary Jane Watson-Parker, The Punisher

The Punisher has a sniper rifle trained on The Jackal. He has an old grudge against Prof Warren that he wants to settle. A SWAT team are also at the Empire State Building but Spidey swings off with The Jackal in tow.

Punisher continues after them, while Jackal spouts off to Pete about how they're going to usher in a new era where EVERYONE will be a perfect clone (why?). Punisher eventually corners them and shoots Jackal, who jumps in to save Peter. Peter is livid and jumps at Punisher before all the police turn up. Punisher escapes.

Kaine has another vision of MJ dying and this time he sees the face of the killer. He says he can't believe who it is.

Peter takes The Jackal's seemingly-dying body back his lair. Jackal says to put him in a regeneration cell, which Peter does. The Jackal, inside and away from Peter, says her couldn't have planned it better himself.

In General...

Again with the crossovers - this time The Punisher as well. Quite why he got involved, I still don't know - especially when his story took up more than half the pages of a SPIDER-MAN book and had no legitimate tie to it.

Not much really happens - again - the Clone Saga is really beginning to wear.

Overall Rating...

Yet more needless crossovers.
