Pete is on the set of MJ's soap with her as he is chasing a photo publicist's job. Elsewhere at the Bugle, Jonah fires Betty and gives Robbie a dressing-down for the story about his wife and the weapons. Robbie protests that 'Betty is one of our best investigative reporters', which I guess means I can throw my degree out the window and get the paper to rely on our secretaries to do the reporting. Spider-Man is clinging to the wall outside the window and hears everything.

At ESU, Marla and the other scientists are working on some desert project, which involves something to do with stolen Sandman and Quicksand DNA. As Spidey swings towards ESU, something goes wrong and there's a big explosion. It creates this moving sand-mass type thing. Sandman and Quicksilver show up to help stop it 'eating' people.

In General...

There's something a bit wrong in Kavanagh's thinking (or JJs I suppose) when a secretary is, all of a sudden, his 'best' reporter. What about Robbie? What about any of the other nameless faces from the Bugle?

The sane villain is a bit cheesy but I suppose it could be worse.

Overall Rating...

OK ... by Kavanagh's standards.
