Feb 1993 : SM Title : Web of Spider-Man
Characters: Aunt May Parker, Blood Rose, Rose (Richard Fisk)

We begin with five pages of Blood Rose killing lots of Fisk's old drug-running men. They try to get back at BR for murdering their boss but he takes all of them out and says 'father taught me too well'.

Pete arrives at May's with Betty for a meal with MJ, May and his parents (who have recently just returned in ASM). Next, we see Richard Fisk. He didn't die before but was washed up on an island after being saved by his hired divers.

Pete's at the Bugle when he sees an explosion at Fisk Tower. He changes to Spider-Man and swings across town. Blood Rose is shooting up everyone inside the building. Spidey jumps in and does his best to save the people.

Another explosion goes off and Spidey tries to get out. Down below, for no reason whatsoever, Joe Robertson grabs a guy's camera, hurdles the police barrier and sprints into the building (huh?). Spidey stops him going further in on his way out but Blood Rose and Foreigner's men ambush them.

In General...

The Howard Mackie run preceding this has been unredeemable. This era marks a true low-water mark in Spider-Man, in Marvel, and in the history of Sequential Art.

Overall Rating...

Half a web. That's as low as the rating system will allow.
