Jun 1996 : SMURF 012.600 : SM Title : Untold Tales of Spider-Man
Characters: Aunt May Parker, Betty Brant, Flash Thompson, J. Jonah Jameson, Elizabeth (Allan) Osborn, Sally Avril

First off, we see an over-confident Spider-Man investigate a penthouse robbery. As we all know, whenever Spidey is feeling over-confident, he is about to get his butt kicked. The person who does it this time is a beautiful villain called C mmanda. She controls various gadgets (flying electric blocks, energy blasts, a changeable costume, force-field, etc.) using a jewel in her head band. Spidey notices this, but she suckers him in and escapes.

When he catches up with her later, she is stealing from Liz Allen's father's hotel. She tries to seduce Spidey, but he double-crosses her and breaks her headband. Just when he thinks he has her, she calls the guards on HIM and hehas to run away. She is some powerful, rich-woman, who is obviously in crime for the kicks. We will probably be seeing more of her.

In other news, Betty gets mad at Peter because Sally (from Peter's high school) comes to the Bugle and finds out that it is Peter who takes all the Spidey pictures. He has to ditch Betty to go off and explain it to Sally.

In General...

This issue seemed very short to me. All the sudden I realized I was on the last page! It was still a good read, and it was interesting to see how Spidey reacted to a lady flirting with him.

Overall Rating...

I still recommend "Untold Tales of Spider-Man" highly, and I give this issue 4 webs out of five.
