Feb 1996 : SMURF 010.600 : SM Title : Untold Tales of Spider-Man
Reprinted In: Untold Tales Of Spider-Man (TPB)
Characters: Aunt May Parker (BTS), Betty Brant, Flash Thompson, Human Torch, J. Jonah Jameson, Elizabeth (Allan) Osborn, Sally Avril

Peter and Human Torch play a 'daft-but-deadly' game of hide and seek with The Wizard, as the refugee from Oz he seeks to humiliate Johnny Storm once again. The prize is the life of the innocent bystanders, and the clues keep getting more difficult.

In General...

The pace is rediculously fast, and the plot is a little inane. Perhaps thirty years ago that might have been forgivable, but I'm not sure about that now.

Overall Rating...

It's tough to know what standards to apply when trying to judge Untold Tales. Should they be treated as a Golden Age book, or should they be subject to the standards of the modern reader? In either case, I can't see fit to give Untold Tales #6 more than an average three webs.
