Comics : Spider-Man 3: Coloring and Activity Book 3-in-1

Background...

This is yet another movie tie-in coloring book from the Spider-Man Color/Activity Books (HarperCollins) range. It's standard 8.25" x 11" size, plain newsprint stock, with 48 pages if I counted correctly.

Mar 2007 : SM Title : Spider-Man Color/Activity Books (HarperCollins)

The name "3-in-1" seems to indicate that this book reproduces three of the other smaller titles in the series, but it's not quite clear which three that might be. I tried comparing it with some of the others, but couldn't find an exact match with any of them.

Instead, it seems simply to be a larger book with a melange of material drawn from all of them. On those terms, it succeeds admirably. For a US$3 sticker price, you get 48 pages of good quality artwork, puzzles and word-games. Most of the characters and key scenes from the movie turn up in one way or another, and the artist has done a good job of cartoon-izing the actual cast of the film.

In General...

Even 48 pages isn't that many, and the paper stock is cheap newsprint. But at three bucks this is a fair fist-full of decent coloring and puzzles for a fair price.

Overall Rating...

Three and a half webs. Good bang for buck.
