Background...

Funtastic are an Australian-based publisher that have produced several Spider-Man coloring and activity books. Until now, all of the material I've seen from them has been themed as a movie tie-in. This is the first I've seen in the bright red and blue "Ultimate Spider-Man" theming which was popular a few years back.

I bought this book in the UK for five pounds in a remaindered book discount store. Cover price is seven pounds. You'll be lucky to find this anywhere outside Australia, UK, New Zealand.

Review

This is the second Spider-Man jigsaw book, the first was the Spider-Man 2: Jigsaw Book (Funtastic) from 2004. I guess the concept was pretty popular and they decided to roll out another one.

As promised, there are four jigsaw puzzles inside the book. The pages are hard cardboard which provides a solid backing. The jigsaw art is from early issues of Ultimate Spider-Man. As well as the nice sturdy puzzles, there's a page of re-usable stickers which you use to help complete the four activity pages.

In General...

The whole package is nice and solid. At full price, seven pounds is about fourteen dollars, but you're getting quite a hefty product for that. This book is built to last, assuming you always complete the jigsaws and don't leave pieces lying around!

Overall Rating...

A worthwhile product at a fair price. Great for Christmas presents and birthdays. I'll give it an above average three and a half webs.
