Continuing the story from last issue, Peter is on a conveyor belt about to enter a fiery demise as his parents watch in horror. His father grabs Shaddock, the crooked FBI agent that brought them to the meat processing plant where he planned to kill them, and Peter uses the distraction to take out Shaddock with one punch. The FBI shows up to arrest their rouge agent, and in return for keeping his mouth shut about the fact that the FBI had a rouge agent that they were unaware of for 30 years, they agree to help Peter use the circuitry he took from one of the robot Spiders to trace Smythe to his lair.
Spidey traces Smythe to his layer and after being attacked by Smythe's minions, faces Smythe himself, who has been cybernetically transformed into a killing machine. They fight back and forth, but Smythe gets the upperhand and before long, he has Spidey at his mercy. However, one of the scientists whom Smythe had imprisoned to build robots for him begs him not to kill Spider-Man. Smythe gets really ticked off and savagley attacks this scientist. Spider-Man gets an adrenaline rush when seeing another at the risk of death and quickly takes out Smythe. The story ends with Spidey and Mary Jane having dinner at a fancy resteraunt.
In General...
Like I said, I don't really like Biweekly sagas, but this was not too bad. A little anticlimactic. Nothing to write home about. I love Bagley's art. Rushed story. Rushed feel to it. Not the greatest story, but at least its over.
