The story opens up with the Scorpion testing out his new high tech costume that the Tinkerer has whipped up for him. He is loving it and can't wait to use it against J. Jonah Jameson and Spider-Man.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man, suspicious that perhaps the Tinkerer has been sending killer robots against him, goes to the Tinkerers lab to try to investigate him. However, all he finds is Felicia Hardy. He is understandably upset that one of his friends is associating with a known criminal, but Felicia explains that she is only there because the Tinkerer fixed her up with some new gear so that she can become the Black Cat again. Before they can discuss it any further, the Scorpion, whom had also been near the Tinkerers lab, spotted and attacekd the heroes. Spider-Man starts taking it to the Scoprpion, but is soon attacked by another robot. This robot wraps itself around Spider-Man's arms and legs and prevents him from moving, and the Scorpion starts unloading on the helpless Spider-Man. Luckily, with the help of Felicia Hardy, he manages to trick the Scorpion into destroying the robot. The Scorpion also trashes his new high tech gear in the process and escapes. In the aftermath of the struggle, Spider-Man goes into the Tinkerer's laboratory, but the Tinkerer had fled. Spider-Man tells the Black Cat that the robot that attacked them is exactly the same as a robot he fought years earlier built by Mendel Stromm. But Mendel Stromm had been dead for years, so they still dont know who is responsible for sending the killer robots after Spidey.

In General...

The Scoprion is cool, but he's a really static character. These biweekly sagas get on my nerves. They are always a little rushed. Spider-Man should be smarter than this. I mean, who has sent killer robots after him in the past? That really narrows it down.

Overall Rating...

Not too good, not too bad. Love Bagley's art.
