This is a new version of Marvel’s “specialty” comics. It is sponsored and distributed exclusively by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). It is yet another in its series of New Avengers “Military” comics. The comic is distributed exclusively on U.S. Military bases. The difference with this one is that it is more of a coloring book than a comic

In Detail...

New Avengers (Military - AAFES) Activity Book
Jun 2010 : Review (No SM)
Summary: No Spider-Man
Staff Only

Rendered in B&W as a coloring book, each page gives a description of the Exchange, what it is, and how the exchange benefits the men and women of the armed forces.

Only Captain America, Thor and Iron Man (as well as various soldiers) appear in the comic/coloring book.

In General...

There is no story per say, just brief paragraphs on each page explaining about the Exchange.

Overall Rating...

While there is no story (and no Spidey) the fact that it is a coloring comic clearly designated for the children of soldiers, makes this something of a cool collectible.

This comic was produced especially for the U.S. Military, and is only sold on Military bases, but can be acquired easily enough off any of the auction sites, and makes a very nice addition to a serious collector’s library.
