Comics : 1995 First Quarter Report

This story is part of a Lookback Series: A Word From Our Sponsor

Background...

From a collector's standpoint, one of the most interesting aspects of the Marvel Comic's Board of Directors taking the comicbook company public in 1991 was that when the company began issuing quarterly and annual reports, those reports (unlike similar reports of other publicly-traded companies) were issued in the form of comicbooks. These comicbooks/reports have since become collectible items on their own.

Mar 1995 : SM Article : Marvel Reports

This is another of Marvel's Quarterly reports. This is a four-page, glossy report produced as a faux-comic spouting facts and figures about the company.

In General...

This four-page early-year report contains information about Marvels business dealings thus far in 1995. There are several images of Spider-Man throughout this report.

Overall Rating...

Interestingly enough, even with all the Spidey images, this one still is not as much fun as it could be.

Footnote...

Only shareholders were entitled to receive quarterly reports so it is a fair bet that most of them got tossed. However, anyone (shareholder or not) could request an annual report, so it is possible that there are more of them available. However, it is not known how many quarterly reports were published.
