Background...

Marvel Poster books (actually magazine rather than book as such). They're part of the new way of things, courtesy of ever-increasing attention to high quality cover (and interior) art, with a side-helping of variant covers that need somewhere to be displayed for those who can't afford them.

Review

This "Dark Avengers" poster book features a couple of Spider-Man images, a good few Venom (Mac Gargan) shots, and the Spider-Osborn cover from Dark Avengers #11.

In General...

The Dark Avengers title and guest appearances were chock-full of beautifully rendered covers, centerfold spreads, splash pages and such. Along with the endless series of crossovers into pretty much every title, you could probably have made two or three poster books.

The selection here is a pretty representative bunch. Every image has been carefully chosen and faithfully reprinted. If you can't find half a dozen pictures among this lot worthy of gracing your college dorm wall or home bedroom wall, well there's something wrong with you.

Overall Rating...

Yes, the novelty of the Poster Book concept is rather wearing off by now. But there's no denying the quality of these pictures. Three and a half webs.
