Comics : FF #7
This review was first published on: Jan 2012.
The FF are trying to stop the Inter-dimensional council of Reeds from enacting their evil plans. Last issue and this issue are dedicated to filling in backstory on the Inhumans, since they have now stepped in. Last issue basically retold the events of the War of Kings and what has been happening with the Inhimans in recent times. This issue fills in how exactly Black Bolt returns...
Sep 2011 : Review (No SM)
Summary: No Spider-Man
Black Bolt awakes in the Fault and defeats some monstrous, tentacled creature and then meets up with Lockjaw, who teleports him out of there and to the Imperial Throneroom on Hala. Black Bolt arrives as some Kree dlegates are petitioning the throne about hardships. Through Medusa, he communicates that the Inhumans are leaving, they have been summoned back to Earth and that they will leave Ronan in charge. The delegate complains and Black Bolt says, "I am awake." Black Bolt's speech obliterates the delegate and a portion of the room. Black Bolt and the Inhumans then leave.
We then see another flashback to the Supreme Intelligence, 3000 years in the past. The Supremor implements a plan for his survival/rebirth and plants something called the "supremor seed" in the Accuser's hammer.
In the more recent past, the Inhumans arrive on the moon and Black Bolt is united with his other wives of the Universal Inhumans!
Another great issue of the new Inhumans mini--series!
Once again, a great comic, especially for Inhuman fans, but totally devoid of the title characters! I liked all the Throne room scene and the Supreme Intelligence sub-plot, but as things are explained and revealed, still some things are frustratingly unclear. What is this all important summoning? A genetic prophecy, thousands of years in the making? These are all key to understanding Black Bolt and the Universal Inhuman motivations, but there is no clear explanations.
I found the art a little patchy too. Some excellent, powerful scenes with seemingly unfinished or rushed work now and then.
Hopefully this backstory is out of the way and more answers and explanations are present in the coming issues.
Great for what it is. But, what it is, isn't a FF comic!
